School Safety - New Procedure

In an effort to stay on top of the latest safety protocols, Lula Elementary is implenting a new policy, effective February 2, 2015. After this date, students will only be released to adults who are listed as contacts or emergancy contacts in Infinite Campus (our digital student management system) or on the Student Information Cards filled out at the beginning of the year.

To prepare for this change, be sure that any adult who could pick up your child from school is listed on this card. If you wish to update your information, you can come by the school or you can fax a letter listing the people you would like to add along with a copy of your drivers license (so that we can verify the fax did come from you) to 770-869-1961.

Additionally, we will no longer be able to make transportation changes after 1:40pm because it does not give us enough time to verify that your child is being released to an authorized individual. If your child needs to go home differently than normal, please contact the school or your child's teacher before 1:40. If an emergancy does occur, you should call the office and ask to speak with Mr. Alexander or Ms. London (only they will be able to authorize a change at that point).

Please remember that, while these new steps may seem like more work on your part, they are done to ensure the safety of your children - and nothing is more important than that! Thank you for your support. If you have any questions about these new procedures, please let us know.
