Cursive Writing

 

There is some debate as to whether or not cursive should still be taught in schools, but most research suggests tha it still has benefits - even in our digital age.  For instance, in June 2014, Time Magazine wrote an article titled "Five Reasons Kids Shold Still Learn Cursive Writing", which makes some very good points.  Magazines like Psychology Today have also written articles on the importance of cursive, and research suggests that cursive is especially helpful for students with learning disabilities, like dyslexia and ADHD.  Additionally, according to the CCGPS standards (page 5), it should be a part of your child's third grade education.  With that being said, we will be learning it in class this year.
