Weekly Update 1/26/15

Good morning, LES Family!

This week in class...

Math

• Continue to master Area, Perimeter, and Multiplication facts

• Test on Friday or Monday over Unit 3

Reading/Writing

• We are working on researching and writing our own nonfiction books about a topic we chose last week! Our books will have 5-8 chapters, a table of contents, a glossary, and other nonfiction text features.

• We are continuing our Words study. There will be a test on Thursday over the words.

Science / Social Studies

• We are continuing to learn about the habitats in Georgia. Last week, we studied the Piedmont (where we live!) and this week we'll study the Mountains and the Swamp habitats.

Reminders:

• The DOG Academy meeting is Thursday, January 29 at 6:00pm! Join us to learn about this amazing advanced learning program offered in 4th grade.

• Math Unit 3 Test this week (Area, Perimeter, Multiplication)

• Magazine Fundraiser Kickoff was Tuesday!

Homework:

• Adapted Mind - every night for 20 minutes (focus on doing the problems correctly!)

• Read Fiction and Nonfiction text - every night for 25 minutes

• Research facts for their nonfiction book

• Study for Words Test (The scores last week were not great overall.)
