Help Timtim the Turkey - Class Writing

Today in class, a sweet little turkey asked us to help him convince people not to eat him this year. We brainstormed lots of great ideas and then wrote a letter to everyone as an opener for out upcoming persuasive writing unit.

I hope you enjoy our student created letter as much as we enjoyed writing it as a class.

Dear People of the World,

Please do not eat a turkey for Thanksgiving. First, turkeys may have diseases that make you sick. Do you like to be sick? No! Second, eating turkey makes you fat. There are more healthy choices to eat. Finally, turkeys are not harmful. They didn't do anything to you! Please think about this and never eat a turkey again.
