Break! Move! Drop!

We learned a chant today to help us remember how rocks move from one type to the other in the rock cycle.

Sedimentary rocks are made when weathering (rain and wind) break big stone into smaller pieces. These pieces are pushed and further broken by erosion until they settle as sediment and eventually bond together to create sedimentary rocks. Metamorphic rocks get buried in the eath and pressure causes the pieces to bond more solidly to created a blended type of rock made of several types. Igneous rocks are formed when sedimentary or metamorphic rocks drop very deep within the eart and get heated by magma to form a new rock.

We got so good at our chant that we were able to teach it to Mrs. Grier's class.

They challenged us to see who can preform it better at the end of next week. In Halle's words, "They're going down like Donkey Kong!"

If you forget the moves, this video should help!
